S3DA delivered a comprehensive MEP engineering solution for the First Wave Apartments, a new multi-family residential development in Santa Cruz. Our team focused on creating robust, energy-efficient systems that balance tenant comfort with long-term operational reliability.
Our specialized scope of work included:
- Mechanical Systems: Development of full mechanical specifications and a high-precision heat load report. A key feature of this design is the rigid ductwork system, specifically engineered to be secured to the building’s structure for superior durability and airflow distribution. We also provided detailed roof plans and schedules.
- Electrical Infrastructure: Comprehensive lighting and power floor plans supported by Single-Line Diagrams (SLD) and detailed panel schedules. The design ensures code-compliant power distribution throughout the residential units and common areas.
- Plumbing Engineering: Full design of domestic water and sanitary drainage systems, including 2D riser diagrams for clear vertical coordination. We also engineered the natural gas distribution system with a complete isometric riser diagram to ensure safe and efficient delivery to all appliances.
This project demonstrates our ability to deliver fully coordinated MEP packages for complex multi-family housing projects in high-demand coastal environments.
